Butterflies improve….

After last weeks rain I was able to do a Transect yesterday.  Over 100 butterflies were recorded compared with an average of 60 for week 12.  Good numbers of Large Skipper and the first Ringlet this year for Grafton.  The rare Meadow Rue was out and looking great.

I was able to fine the rare Aspen Leaf Rolling Weevil doing what it says on the tin – rolling a leaf with his mate.  (Byctiscus populi)
